They say when you know, you just know. These two love birds tied the knot up in New Jersey last week, but before they did I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with them, taking their engagement pictures in the French Quarter. Cheryl told me that the engagement was a complete surprise to her. They met through friends and after that spent every day together. When he popped the question; less than 9 months later, she didn’t see it coming, and the whole relationship has been a whirlwind of excitement ever since!
Chris is definitely an unstoppable force! You won’t find this guy away from the beach for too long, he lives on the waves. It was so fun to watch Chris transform in front of the camera. He wasn’t shy, but halfway into our session, he became a full on ham. When you’re comfortable in front of your photographer, it shows. They decided to choose two different backdrops for their engagement photography session which gave the whole session a unique duality. It almost looks like two separate days. After some spinning and dancing under the oaks and the couple giving each other sweet looks on moss dappled bridges, we headed into the city. We walked down Royal street, passed a CC’s that caught their eye (same initials as our sweethearts) and stopped wherever the lights and colors were inspiring.
Afterwards, not ready for it all to end, Chris and Cheryl invited me for a drink with them at Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop, one of the oldest bars in Nola. While I mostly turned off my work brain, I couldn’t help but capture one last shot, and it turned out to be one of my favorites.
Together, these two love to travel, eat delicious food (Chris is kind of an expert) and spend time with their friends and family… that is how they met, after all! Best Wishes on the new house! I can’t wait to see the wedding photos. It sounded like quite the party!
