New Orleans Photographer

Feeling comfortable looks really good
on you

And making that happen?
Kinda my thing.

I know what it’s like to look for a photographer and wonder if they’ll actually see you or just tell you what your photos are “supposed” to look like.

With me, you never have to worry about any of that.

Whether you’re getting married for the first time, finding love again, or doing things your own damn way (hell yeah!), you don’t have to fit a certain age, size, style, shape, or version of love to belong in front of my camera.

All you have to do is bring the story that got you here. I’ll bring the local knowledge, some light direction, and a whole lot of hype so you can stop thinking about the camera and actually enjoy the adventure.

Hey, I’m Ash (she/her)

Queer mom of two and world traveler turned New Orleans photographer.

Before falling head over heels for NOLA and making it home, I traveled my way through 30+ countries, traveled one loop around the world, and even hitchhiked across the country all for the love of adventure. (Yes, you read that right.)

Photography has always been “the” thing for me.

It started with dressing up my little brother and taking glamour shots on an i-Zone sticker camera (please tell me you remember those!). It continued through the very fun era of a hand-me-down digital camera that took actual floppy disks. Later on, I took film in high school and did modeling for fun. When it was time to declare a major in college, I realized I could choose the other side of the camera as a profession, and well, the rest is history, as they say.

Now, with 15+ years of professional experience and hundreds of the raddest humans in front of my camera, I still feel ridiculously lucky that I get to do this for a living. I love love. I love meeting new people. I especially love watching someone go from “I’m so awkward in photos” to forgetting they were even nervous in the first place.

New Orleans is part of my story, but yours can take us anywhere.

There’s something about New Orleans. She’s unique, she’s got history, she has such a cool, distinct aesthetic that’s gorgeous but rough around the edges. The music is unmatched, the people are some of the nicest around, and even with everywhere I’ve traveled, there’s a special kind of magic here that I haven’t found anywhere else.

These days, I get to be part of it. I love jazz (even had a former life as a swing dancer), the underground rock scene, and the unmatched creativity that takes over every Mardi Gras season, when you’ll find me participating in a few krewes of my own.

Of course, New Orleans is home, but I’m always ready to pack my bags for your story. Come meet me in New Orleans, or tell me where I’m flying. I’m so in. Wherever you choose to celebrate, the place becomes part of the story, too.

From the first call, Ash was helpful, thorough, and kind! She eased all my anxieties about coordinating my elopement shoot from a few states away and made the entire experience enjoyable. She went out of her way to give us solid, LOCAL recommendations to tie our elopement together. My husband, our family, and I are so grateful Ash was the person to capture one of our most treasured days.”
