Exactly what you wanna know about New Orleans weddings
All the little details about working together, what to expect, and getting some rad photos along the way.
Before your session
-
I get it! 90% of the humans on my website said they were awkward, shy, or unphotogenic in front of a camera. I've taken hours and hours of classes on posing and I know how to get you out of your head and into the moment. This is one of the areas where it makes a big difference to have a professional taking your photos! That being said, if there's anything that makes you feel especially self-conscious, let me know, and I'll be conscious of it for you.
-
Number one, wear something that you're going to feel confident in! If it's a new outfit, wear it out before the session, or even around the house, to get comfortable in it. If you have some ideas, I'm happy to work through them with you. Remember, the more you put into your session, the more you will get out of it. Avoid logos and words. Try coordinating colors vs. matchy-matchy. Bring comfy shoes, and if it's one of our many hot New Orleans days, bring a hanky or rag for sweat. It's not glamorous, but it's real.
-
I think you should do it! I know I'm biased, but hear me out...First, we get to create our first in-person connection together! Also, any of those nervous thoughts about being in front of the camera? Let me erase them! When you get your gorgeous engagement photos in front of you, you'll feel so much more confident and relaxed for your wedding day.

ASAP! Lock it down so that date doesn't get scooped up by someone else.
Weddings, elopements + travel
-
Absolutely! I've traveled across the country (even hitchhiked across the country for fun!) and have been to over 30 countries. I not only love to travel but love love LOVE to photograph destination weddings!!! There is no travel fee for weddings within an hour of New Orleans. I'm just a plane ticket and hotel room away from being there!
-
Microweddings and elopements are the best!!!! I adore elopements and smaller weddings too! Whatever your dream is, count me in. I will create a photography package that fits exactly what you're looking for down to the half hour. Win-win!
-
I'm down for anything if you are! Sometimes the most magical moments come out of the unexpected.
That said, if it's storming or the weather prevents your event from happening as planned, I will try to be as flexible as possible so we can make it happen at a different time.

Absolutely! Get at me!
Your photos + gallery
-
I am super excited to share your images with you and try to get them back to you as soon as possible! That said, life is still happening, and there may be other sessions ahead of yours. Please allow up to 2 weeks for smaller sessions and up to 2 months for weddings. If you want them back at super lightning speed, we can arrange that for an additional fee.
-
A personalized online gallery where you can order prints, download images, and share your gallery.
-
I never deliver RAW photos, but I do deliver High-Resolution photos that are big enough for any printing needs.
-
Nope! You get all the good ones from our session.
-
I review and hand-edit every photo I take from our photoshoot. I want every photo to meet the Nola Darlings Photography standard and be ready to share. I will never alter someone's physical appearance unless they make a specific request. Extra editing is available for an extra charge per photo!
-
No, please take note of your gallery's expiration date and download/backup your images before that date.
Pricing + booking
-
My hourly rate is $625. I also offer half-hour sessions for $450 and occasionally mini-sessions too!
-
I send invoices payable by credit or debit card. I can accept almost any form of payment by request.
-
The easiest way would be to email me at ashley@noladarlings.com

There's a lot that goes into pricing, and it's not just picking a number that sounds good. Time, Cost of Doing Business, Taxes, Equipment, Insurance, Education, and Experience all go into my pricing. I know it may sometimes seem like I'm just clicking a button, especially since everyone has fancy cameras on their phones, but there's so much more to it than that. I make my living doing what I love, but I still have to make a living wage.
About me and the experience
-
I have two mirrorless Nikon Z7 II cameras that I use for almost all of my sessions, along with an assortment of lenses, flashes, and gadgets.
-
1000% yes!!! I am a queer female photographer, and my number one goal is to create a safe space for you and/or your partner(s). I also strive to only work with other queer-friendly spaces/vendors.
-
Yes! And will happily wear a mask on request.
-
Reviews really count! I read and appreciate every single one. Not only that, but they help other awesome folks find me!
You can leave a review on The Knot, Wedding Wire, Google, Yelp, Facebook; anywhere would make me oh so happy.
Okay, what’d I miss?
If your question isn’t answered here, send it my way. And if you’re already thinking, yep, she’s my photographer, even better.
